Approval of Minutes

·         There was a motion and a second to approve the minutes as written from the April 15th meeting as written

Accreditation

Presenter: Jessica Walter & Terry Mackey

·         The members of the accreditation team are: Bill Briare, Kate Gray, Phillip King, Elizabeth Lundy, Terry Mackey, Steffen Moller, Jessica Walter, Bill Waters, & Judy Redder.

·         The new accreditation process has moved from every 10 years to a 7 year process.

·         We have six core themes that have been identified: accountability, high quality education & training, sustainability and stewardship, accessible, adaptive and responsive community engagement & enrichment.

·         A sub group from the members went to Seattle and attended a meeting to focus in on the following items: zero in on the core themes that define the mission; what we do vs. who we are; differentiate between drivers & results; expand our definition of assessment; live “continuous improvement”.

ISP

Presenter: Bill Briare

·         1st Reading.

·         There is one change, that’s condition 9. There was a question regarding the wording that has been struck out. The information that was struck out was about instructor compensation & fee information. Where is that information going to go if it’s not listed in the ISP? The representative from ISP will take this question back to the committee for review.

·         A suggestion was made to have the ISP add language about the necessity of getting the exam reviewed and graded by the end of the 8th week to make sure that the student isn’t adversely affected by the credits going to the next term.

Academic Calendar

·         2nd Reading.

·         There was a motion and a second to approve the calendar as written.

Faculty Assessment Workshop

Presenter: Matthew Altman

·         Friday May 13th there will be a faculty assessment workshop. Matthew will come back and report as to how the workshop turned out. If you would like to attend, contact Matthew and you will get an invitation sent to you.

Bond Update

Presenter: Joanne Truesdell

·         Election day is May 17th. If you would like to participate on the phone banks, please contact your union representative.

ASG

Presenter: ASG Representative

·         None.

Classified

Presenter: Lizz Rich

·         Classified has challenged the faculty to see which union can bring in the most food and hygiene products items for the Cougar Cave. The challenge goes from May 9th through 5pm on May 13th.

Full-Time Faculty

Presenter: Bob DelGatto

·         Full-Time faculty have accepted the challenge from the Classified staff.

Other Information

·         Lupe Martinez would like everyone to know that the multicultural ambassador group is hosting a festival on May 17th called “Cultural Carnival”.

·         Steve Beining would like you to take a picture on Election Day and send it to pc@clackamas.edu The in-service committee would like to use those pictures during the upcoming in-service.
